"A Ramble through Rich Farmland"

These words are used to describe Broadland District Council's leaflet "Rackheath - a five-mile scenic walk" in their Out and About Broadland series.

The leaflet goes on to extol the virtues of this four and a half mile walk around "country lanes and field paths with extensive views of the countryside". The walk starts at Rackheath Recreation Ground and takes you through the industrial estate and then across two fields divided by a tree belt and thence on to Muck Lane "where the landscape gives views over wide expanses of farmland...."

For once we have no argument with Broadland District Council this is indeed rich farmland and the walk is scenic - well, it is at the moment. Just why does the Council want to build over this farmland? Where is the justification? Shouldn't someone stop them!!!

  1. Is this a joke? it is a classic case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing!
